GRT Management Team’s 2026 Summer Team-Building Trip Concludes Successfully
< BackWork is not just about the focus of poring over documents at one’s desk; it is also about the warmth and camaraderie of venturing into the mountains and by the sea. From 17 to 19 July, GRT organised a trip for the company’s management team to Ulanqab, embarking on a summer team-building journey that combined relaxation with personal growth. Department heads and key staff members, who normally lead their respective teams in the day-to-day rush, set off side by side as fellow travellers on this occasion. They recharged their minds and bodies amidst nature, strengthened their rapport through collaboration, and refined their understanding through critical thinking, gaining a unique sense of team spirit and the power of growth.
A relaxed gathering on the grasslands is the best way to break down barriers and foster unity. Set against the backdrop of the vast grassland scenery, this team-building event featured immersive team-building activities. Moving away from tedious group training sessions, the programme centred on fun collaborative games, allowing everyone to participate with ease. Members were divided into random teams and worked together seamlessly; through light-hearted competitions and mutual support, they set aside their professional roles, shed their pressures, and threw themselves wholeheartedly into the team activities. Laughter and merriment eased the tension of daily work and broke down communication barriers between departments, allowing managers—who are usually busy with their duties—to quietly grow closer in a relaxed atmosphere.
The evening bonfire party on the grasslands took the atmosphere to new heights. Everyone danced around the fire, admired the fireworks, and chatted freely amidst the evening breeze and night sky, allowing the warmth of the team to take root. At the same time, the unique yurta accommodation and authentic grassland cuisine allowed everyone to immerse themselves in the distinctive local folk customs, adding a rich sense of warmth and vibrancy to the journey.
Escaping to the mountains and wilderness for a sense of freedom and renewal. Amidst their busy work schedules, the group ventured into the Huitenxile alpine meadows and the Ulanhada volcanic range, immersing themselves in the beauty of nature. In the height of summer, the grasslands were lush and green, with flowers blooming across the fields; the breeze was refreshing and the scenery deeply restorative. Everyone strolled freely, took photos to commemorate the moment, tried out unique activities, and thoroughly enjoyed the slow-paced, relaxing atmosphere. The diverse volcanic landforms allowed everyone to experience the majesty of nature up close, whilst the unique ‘Martian’ landscape unlocked a truly novel adventure. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city and the pressures of work, we were able to relax body and mind amidst the mountainous countryside, broaden our horizons and recharge our batteries.
Unlike typical team-building events that focus solely on leisure without any meaningful reflection, the highlight of this event was the workplace-themed debate competition specially organised by the company. Usually preoccupied with business operations and team management, there are few opportunities to sit down and engage in in-depth exchanges of ideas; this debate competition was specifically designed as a training ground for the management team to hone their critical thinking skills. The company deliberately selected topics closely aligned with practical work scenarios—such as professional growth, career awareness and personal development—enabling everyone to re-examine key workplace issues through critical analysis.
The teams faced off on stage, each voicing their own views, and engaged in fierce debates characterised by clear logic and unique perspectives, creating a lively atmosphere. A professional judging panel, comprising members of the General Manager’s Office and department directors, provided impartial assessments and detailed feedback throughout the event. They highlighted the strengths and pointed out the areas for improvement in each team’s performance, guiding participants to think outside the box. This feast of critical thinking allowed management to learn from one another and update their perspectives through the clash of ideas, prompting a re-examination of work attitudes, personal capabilities, the value of the organisation, and the significance of their efforts. It not only honed their critical thinking and communication skills but also fostered a shared consensus on team growth, laying a solid intellectual foundation for future efficient collaboration.
The relaxed and free-spirited concluding part of the itinerary added a touch of warmth to this team-building event. Participants organised their own schedules, exploring the local culture, savouring regional specialities and selecting thoughtful souvenirs, whilst cherishing the beautiful memories of this grassland journey during these carefree moments.
This three-day team-building trip was not only a relaxation for body and mind, but also a refining and growth of the mind. The time spent together brought us closer; the natural scenery soothed the fatigue of work; and the in-depth discussions empowered our future growth. Moving forward, the GRT management team will bring the rapport, vitality and positive mindset gained from this journey back to their respective teams. United in purpose and moving forward shoulder to shoulder, we will embark on new professional endeavours with a more cohesive and proactive attitude, working hand in hand to achieve better results and build a brighter future.
